Come and experience the fun of poetry at Lee Memorial's poetry discussion group. We normally meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM, September through May. Join with other poetry lovers, reading and interpreting the best and brightest in poetry. Selections are taken from the work of established poets.

Yusef Komunyakaa earned the Bronze Star for articles he published while enlisted in the army during the Vietnam War. His subject matter ranges from the black general experience through rural Southern life before the Civil Rights time period and his experience as a soldier during Vietnam. His moving, widely anthologized poem "Facing It" will be part of "Circle of Voices" poetry discussion on February 14th at 7:00 pm. Please join Laurie Byro and other poetry enthusiasts during Black History Month as we celebrate the life and work of this Pulitzer Prize winning poet, Yusef Komunyakaa.
